Lowlight – Petit dessert offerings were a bit of a let down
We started the night off with the entrée tasting plate and a serve of perfectly fried calamari. There were several choices for mains and we swayed towards the red meats. Each dish was served with common meat and vegetable combinations that were presented well and tasted as they appeared. Portion sizes were substantial and I appreciated the generous amount of sauce dribbled on the meals.
The petit desserts weren’t very enticing and no one was fighting over the last bite. I would prefer next time to try the individual desserts instead.
Pleasant, welcoming staff that were informative of the menu.
Quaff was not overly busy even though we came here for dinner on a Saturday night. Lights were dimmed to create a moody setting and romantic environment.
I’ve also been here for a private function upstairs where the floor plan is laid out effectively with the bar along one side of the wall and an open courtyard to the right. I noticed that the majority of people congregated around the bar and courtyard areas and there were hardly any people inside where there was plenty of space. This is a great function room especially during warmer weather.
Prices are justified given the quality of food and decent portion sizes. Also the Entertainment Book offers a 25% discount of up to $40 off the total bill.
Bookings are available both via the phone and on their website.
